The fresh fruit of Litchi Chinensis has an oval shape covered with inedible lumpy skin, green when unripe and red when ripe.

Its flesh is white, shiny, juicy, fragrant, and has a delicate taste of muscat and pink grapes. Inside there is a large core similar to that of medlars.
