They spend the summer in the low and humid plains, while in winter, it takes refuge in the highest places safe from flooding and never covered by ice.
The moose has a robust and stocky body, a short neck, and holds an enormous and elongated head with a long snout. In the male, the horns shaped like jagged blades can reach the two meters and twenty kilos of weight.

The female is smaller than the male and has no horns. Their coat is thick and long. In summer, its fur is brown-blackish on the back, and the belly and legs are lighter; in winter, it is greyish.

Moose cubs are easy prey for wolves and bears. The social and physical maturity is reached in the first five years of life: the males begin to show off a beautiful stage, and the females start to reproduce.
The moose can reach even 60 km/h and is a powerful swimmer.
